What is Reiki and How Can It Help You?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese relaxation technique that in conjunction with various modalities, has been known to help people resolve or improve their health and to reduce stress. Reiki is a gentle non-invasive method that strengthens the body's natural ability to heal itself. It is also a proven technique used to unblock and direct energy flow. I have used Reiki as a relaxation tool for my yoga and meditation students and as a result, they have received positive results with their various physical ailments. Additionally, Reiki has recently been used in hospitals as a tool to assist patients with their healing as well.
Reiki treatments can be helpful to people if given for any length of time, but a full treatment is usually about an hour. The participant will be fully clothed on a massage table in a relaxed and comfortable environment. It is a deeply rejuvenating, and restorative in nature. The practitioner places their hands over (touching or not) a series of body locations while relaxing music is played. I also like to incorporate aromatherapy in my sessions.
